These are my snowstorm chocolate chip cookies. I baked them because it was sold, quiet and there was nowhere else to be. Thick, rugged (not delicate!) and built for staying inside. These cookies are soft, dense and (I think) deeply comforting - the kind you eat while watching the snow fall outside. They are dense with plenty of chocolate (milk, dark and semisweet) in every bite.

I love chocolate chip cookies. Not in a casual, “I’ll have one if it’s there” way — but in a seek-them-out, compare-notes, form strong opinions kind of way. Crispy edges, chewy centers, pools of melted chocolate… these details matter.
