Snow Day Cookies
Snowstorm Cookies
These are my snowstorm chocolate chip cookies. I baked them because it was sold, quiet and there was nowhere else to be. Thick, rugged (not delicate!) and built for staying inside. These cookies are soft, dense and (I think) deeply comforting - the kind you eat while watching the snow fall outside. They are dense with plenty of chocolate (milk, dark and semisweet) in every bite.
Let’s rate them.
Texture: 4 Chips
These cookies are sturdy with a soft dense interior. More chewy than gooey and definitely more hearty than crisp, which feels right for a showstorm bake.
Chocolate Quality: 4 Chips
Plenty of chocolate in these puppies (I never skimp on chocolate chips), with good distribution in every bite.
Flavor: 4 Chips
Warm and comforting! These cookies taste like brown sugar and vanilla, with a dependable flavor that keeps you reaching for another.
Freshness: 5 Chips
Straight out of the oven, these cookies couldn’t be any fresher. I ate one (ok, maybe more than one) for breakfast!
Overall Rating: 4.25 Chips
This batch never stood a chance!
Not elegant necessarily - just solid, comforting cookies that feel like a good decision when winter is doing its thing outside. This batch was never meant to leave the house! Best enjoyed warm!
What else makes these cookies special? I add vanilla (or churro if I can find it) protein powder and a tablespoon of maple syrup.
